Haven't posted much because I've been extremely unhappy.
Corked my right thigh on Wednesday night at touch footy as well as a massive graze on my left.
Only just walking normally today!

What can I say?

Would it please stop raining!!!!!!

Today's 3hr run was done on the road due to the amount of rain we've had here in Sydney. I wasn't going near the bush, I only wahsed my shoes yesterday!

It was a fairly hilly run but once again all's good until the 2hr mark and then I just struggle. Oh well only 2 or 3 more long run's left.

Weighed 83.9kg this morning so not going up which is good but not going down either.

Not Happy

Haven't posted lately.

Can't say I've been feeling good. Monday's 3hr run was very slow, it just didn't feel good right from the start.

Then with the rain all this week it's been hard. Didn't get my Wed. morning run in but played a hard game of touch that night.

Had a sore throat all week and have enjoyed a few day rest this week.

Yesterdays 13km felt good for the first half.

Today I just ran (parden the pun) out of time. Tried to wait the morning out for the rain to stop. Then got roped into RUG shopping with my wife. Decided to belt out 6kms in just over 28mins so the day wasn't completely wasted.

I'm definitly giving tomorrows Fatass in the Blue Mountains a miss. They have had massive amounts of rain and I just don't think the chance of injury is worth it.

Australia Day

Australia Day has come and gone.

I spent the morning doing a fantastic Fatass run with a whole heap of CoolRunners. Got through 33kms which is my longest run since Six Foot last year. I have to say I didn't gain any confidence from this run. 33km in about 3hrs10. I think I'm more of a one pace guy and getting caught up with a few runners had me at a pace that was probably about 10% faster than I should of gone and that meant I did more walking in the last hour than I would of liked.

On the positive side the legs are sore but not trashed. Touch football last night was tough but enjoyable after having about a 5 week break.

Weight is sitting at 84, 83.8 and 84.1 for the last three days. Hopefully I can get that down to 83 then 82 over the next 3 weeks.

Started Well

Disappointing end to the week. Amazing what heat can do. Unfortunately I had to run at Midday today due to staying over with friends last night and going out this afternoon. It was 39 degrees when I was running and after 6kms I had to start having walking breaks. I was hung over as well but the heat was just intolerable. The water I took with me was hot hot hot by the end of the run.

I had some great runs during the week. 20klms Monday, 5.5km Wed morning and a great 9km Wed arvo that had 10 x 100m stride throughs and a 7km run Thursday arvo.

Coming Along

Double run day Thursday (each one only 35mins), 16km Saturday and 20km Today.

Todays 20km felt so much better than Saturdays 16km. I used some GU Chomps today and a Powerbar Black Currant Gel so that may have helped as on Saturday I only ran with water.

I saw 83.6kg one morning but was 85.1kg this morning which I think had more to do with the Pizza, Lollies and Ice cream eaten last night. Hopefully ran that off today.

Ramping It Up

85.1kg yesterday.
84.5kg today.

That's not as bad as I was thinking. What goes in the mouth from now on has to be a little healthier than how I've been eating over the last 2-3 weeks. I'm glad I've got away with it pretty unscathed.

16km run along the Pipeline this morning starting at my place. Took me around 1hr40 which is a bit longer than I was hoping. Had around 400m of climbing in it so it wasn't flat which is a bonus.

I was meant to do my long run yesterday but life (my 9yr old daughters social life) got in the way of that, so it had to be put off until today and I did 6km run instead at 7pm.

I also weighed myself before and after today's run and I was down 2.1kg after the run. I had also consumed around 800ml during the run. That's a little concerning to me and worries me about how to carry more liquid during my training runs. Any idea's?

Times up

Will post weight tomorrow but not looking good. Had a great 4 days eating and Drinking with Family at Anna Bay near Port Stephens. Only got one 6km run in along the beach which felt further due to the wind and sand.

Good and Bad

Bad because I hate running in the morning. Igot up at 5am to go for a run this morning because it's school holidays and my wife is at work. Did a 1km walk to try and wake up and get things moving then ran for 11km. Good becasue by the end I was feeling quite good and alive.

Rest day tomorrow and the legs need it. 9km Sat. 100km bike ride Sun then 11km Mon. and 11km Tue. Good to see the heart rate finally settling down a bit, it's been quite high over the last 3-4 weeks.

Off to Anna Bay near Nelson's Bay tomorrow night and returning Sunday, hopeful to still get some runs in.

Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic

Had a great ride in The Johnny Warren Classic yesterday. 100kms into the wind and rain.

At about the 70km mark I was in bunch that was probably going a bit fast for my level.
Anyway I dropped my chain off the front ring and had to stop to get it back on. This bloke that I didn't know from a bar of soap (from Kiama) stopped and offered to help me get back on the bunch. Now I'm thinking I was sort of happy to get dropped because they were above my level but how could I not accept his offer as it would be twice as hard for him to get back on by himself. Well 3-4klms of redlining it in a pairs TT we got back on but I was well and truly rooted!

The bunch stuck together until we hit some hills at about 90klms and I ended up riding with the guy that helped me out where we admitted to each other that we both went too hard for too long. It was a great ride and great feed with the family at the Pub afterwards.

Followed this up with a 11km run this morning that took me until 6-7klms before the legs didn't fell like rocks! I really should of gone longer but had no one to look after the kids! Argh school holidays!
