Rest day yesterday for Christmas.
Many many drinks had. Loads of food but most of all a day of rest.
5pm came today and I knew I had a 1hr run planned but still hadn't got out the door. Told my wife I'd be gone for an hour but expect me back in 30 minutes. Well once I got out there I felt really good. Not necessarily great but rested and with loads of energy (I wonder where that came from?).
Looking forward to a good ride tomorrow.

Time Flies
Wow where has time gone this week?
Already Christmas Eve and drinking beer and eating more bad food already!
Saw the Doctor yesterday and unfortunately she thinks I have Whooping Cough and has put me on antibiotics. Sorry to everyone I've been in contact with.
On the other hand the week has been going well training wise. I'm looking forward to tomorrow off as the legs are starting to feel it after now rest day since last Thursday and the first solid week in months!
Merry Christmas

What a Weekend!
That was a big weekend! The annual Engadine Triathlon Club "Pub Run" was on Saturday. This involves running approx. 12klms uphill from Como to Engadine. Oh and stopping off at numerous Pubs, Bottlo's and front yards.
The day started around 1.30pm and we arrived at Engadine Tavern around 6.30pm. I was to meet my family at Carols in the Domain and was to catch a train at about 7pm from Loftus. Long story short I ended up running back to my house (around 5km) then to the train station (a further km) where I missed my next train (this was a 7.30pm one) by 10s. It pulled out as I crossed the road to catch it. I then proceded to walk a further 2km to the next station as it had a train that would get me to the City quicker. It was all worth it watching the kids enjoy the Carols.
Sunday was a 2hr 20min ride feeling a little under the weather.
Today was an 80min run that felt pretty good even if the legs were a little heavy.

Oh Dear!
86.1kg! That's the price for enjoying a game of golf and a few (dozen) beers. I even got up and ran for an hour on Wednesday before going away. I was meant to ride the Crits at Sutherland for the first time tonight but a wet rainy day and the fact the kids aren't home for the night mean we well be busy wrapping pressies in preperation for Christmas. Did a 35min run on the Treadmill at work during lunch as a replacement.

Something Done
84.3kg this morning. Still coughing pretty badly so did an easy 30 mins on the treadmill.
Tomorrow won't be good for the diet. A team building day playing golf with copious amounts of beer and unhealthy food which also involves staying down the coast at Gerringong

Waiting
84.8kg this morning. At least it's under 85kg. Feeling a touch better today, I think the antibiotics I started 2 days ago are starting to have an effect on my chest. Sick of waiting to get better, may do a little treadmill run tomorrow.

Alcohol
Ok after a big Friday night Christmas party I've remained alcohol free for 2 nights. It may not sound like much but honestly I'm not an alcoholic.
It Begins - Sort of
After doing my first Six Foot Track marathon in March 2009 in a time of 5hrs 5 minutes I immediately decided I wanted to come back and go under 5hrs. When I say immediately, it was more like in the following week.
Yesterday I got on the scales and they read 85.6kg!!!! Ouch. I can't really say I've been lazy but I definetly haven't been watching what I eat and drink.
On the exercise front, it hasn't been going how I'd like. I've had a chest infection for the last 2 weeks and this week for example has had zero sessions. So while the campaign begins the exercise doesn't - not until I'm healthy.
And woo no swimming!
